About Rye
A cold-hardy cereal grown on land too poor or cold for wheat, used mainly for dark bread and animal feed, and distilled into rye whiskey and vodka. Germany, Poland and Russia are the largest producers, mostly grown and consumed within Europe. Unlike wheat and corn, there is no single global benchmark price — only national producer prices (this page uses FAOSTAT data).
