About agri.markets

What this is

agri.markets is a free dashboard for agricultural commodity prices - what wheat, corn, coffee, milk, fertilizer and 44 other crops, inputs and livestock products actually cost, where, and why. It pulls from official public sources rather than doing its own primary research: the World Bank, FAOSTAT, Eurostat, the EU Agri-food Data Portal, Statistics Canada, the USDA, the IMF, Meat & Livestock Australia and the World Food Programme, refreshed daily.

What it isn't

This is not a trading platform, and it doesn't show real-time futures quotes. Sites built for active traders already do that well. agri.markets is for a different question: not "what's the tick-by-tick price right now," but "what does this actually cost, historically, regionally, and what's actually moving it" - for a farmer budgeting for next season, a student writing about commodity markets, a journalist checking a number, or anyone else who wants to understand agricultural markets rather than trade them.

What you can do here

Price Dashboard - historical charts for every commodity, back to 1960 where the data goes that far, with region, currency, unit and time-range filters. Most commodities go beyond a single global number: pick a US state, an EU country or a Canadian province for its own regional price where that data exists, or compare two commodities on the same chart.

World map - the same price data plotted geographically, plus a retail-price layer from WFP local market data covering countries no wholesale source here reaches.

Market Reports - the FAO Food Price Index, USDA's WASDE report and PSD stocks-to-use figures, the handful of releases that routinely move prices more than a week of ordinary trading.

Learn - a growing set of articles on how agricultural prices actually form (seasonality, basis, futures and hedging, crop insurance, biofuels policy and more), plus a glossary of the terminology.

All of it is free, with no account or login required, in English, German, Spanish and French.

Every number on this site is sourced, cited and linked back to where it came from - see the "Source" line under any chart. We don't compute our own price estimates; where a chart shows an average across regions or countries, that's stated explicitly as agri.markets' own simple average, not an official statistic.
