Local Food Prices Map

The prices elsewhere on this site are wholesale benchmarks - what a trader or processor pays. This map is different: it shows retail prices at local markets, from the World Food Programme's price-monitoring network, in countries not covered by any other source here.

These are local retail prices in USD/kg, not the wholesale benchmark used elsewhere on this site - the two aren't directly comparable, since retail prices include local transport, milling and market margins on top of the wholesale price. Source: World Food Programme, via HDX.
