- Brazil's citrus greening crisis — Brazil's 2024/25 orange crop came in about 27% below the prior season, its smallest in decades, as citrus greening disease (HLB) - a bacterial infection with no cure, spread by a small insect - reached roughly 40-50% of trees in the country's main growing region, compounded by drought. Brazil alone normally supplies most of the world's orange juice exports.
