Notable price events
- EU milk price crisis, 2015-16 — The end of EU milk quotas on 1 April 2015 let production rise quickly just as Russia's 2014 ban on EU dairy imports and weaker Chinese demand removed buyers. EU milk and dairy prices fell to their lowest in years by mid-2016, and the EU paid farmers to cut output later that year.
EU options are the European Commission's own monthly reference prices; "European Union" is the Commission's own published EU-wide average, not a figure computed by agri.markets. Currency, unit and inflation conversions are explained in how agri.markets sources and calculates prices.
