Grain-to-Fertilizer Price Ratio
What matters to a farm is not the fertilizer price alone but how much of it the crop can pay for. The fields are prefilled with the latest World Bank world prices; overwrite them with your own.
How it is calculated
Ratio = crop price ÷ fertilizer price. Cost per kilogram of nutrient = fertilizer price ÷ (1,000 kg × nutrient share). With Wheat at 330 and urea at 390 dollars per tonne (World Bank, Aug 2026), one tonne of Wheat buys 0.85 tonnes of urea, and a kilogram of nitrogen from urea costs 0.85 dollars. The higher the ratio, the more affordable fertilizer is relative to the crop.
