Natural Gas Price
The main input cost and feedstock for nitrogen fertilizer production (see urea) and a major heating and drying fuel on farms — grain dryers, greenhouses and livestock buildings all run on it directly. Tracked here at the US Henry Hub benchmark. European and Asian gas prices can diverge sharply from the US benchmark during supply disruptions, as seen in 2022.
